Portal Home > Knowledgebase > Domains > 3. Domain Transfers > How do I transfer my domain to you?
This is one of the most asked questions that we receive. It is quite easy to transfer your domain to us.
Log into your Customer Portal, click on Order, choose Domain Registration in the dropdown list. Then follow the steps to transfer the domain over.
During this process, you will be asked to provide the EPP code. The EPP key (Authorization code) is one of the safeguards against unauthorized transfers of domain name registrations and it protects your rights as a domain owner. The EPP key is required when transferring .com, .net, .org, .biz, .info and .us domain names. It is not possible to initiate a domain name transfer for these domains without an EPP code.
You will find the EPP code in the DNS section of your domain's management system. It may also be called Authorization Code or Auth Code or Authorization Key. If you do not have access to your DNS for that domain, you will need to contact your current registrar to obtain the EPP key before being able to initiate a domain transfer.
Please note that EPP codes are case sensitive.Complete the domain transfer order and add any other services that you might need at the same time. Then watch your email inbox for the transfer confirmation letter from the old registrar that you will need to respond to. Usually this is done by clicking a link to confirm the transfer request.
After you have confirmed the request to transfer the domain, you will need to wait for the transfer to be handled by the outgoing registrar and the incoming registrar which will then add the domain to our nameservers. This process usually takes 2-7 days.
In the meantime, start setting up your new website using the temporary domain that we will provide to you. If you need us to assist in migrating your old site to the new account, please contact our Customer Service to schedule this.
